Up until now I always thought the Ohio state classes of 1959-60 and 1960-61 were the best.
#1 DJ Wagner #2 Justin Edwards #6Aaron Bradshaw #9Robert Dillingham #29 Reed Sheppard
Even better than the class of 1959-60 OSU class and 1960-61:
59-60 60-61 Jerry Lucas 16.4 24.9 John Havlicek 11.1 14.5 Larry Siegfried 11.1 15.2 Mel Nowell 11.8 13.6 Joe Roberts 10.0 ---- 60.3 68.2
I joined the Air force on 26 Jan 60 and was at San Antonio and Biloxi when they were finishing that great season and I think that's the year they won the NCAA. Should have been 3 in a row, not for Oscar Robertson and Cincinnati. [ 11-14-2022, 05:00 PM: Message edited by: Bama Cat ]

I don't even get excited about it anymore because I don't think Cal will maximize the talent. It will just be up to them to win in spite of the lack of quality coaching.

Just one small catch to all of that: without top talent, you ain't winning diddly-squat. Cal is one of, if not THE best there is, at getting the names on the dotted line.

That is true, but I am pretty sure numerous national champions during his time have had less talent than he has had. I hope this group can be like 2012 and win it, but I am afraid he will just have them fall short again when he run into a good coach that out-coaches him, and the players aren't able to overcome it on just talent alone.
