I realized why no one posts here anymore. I imagine no one is really interested who decides to come to UK in the future with how the current ones are faring in their games. I just can't get away from looking down the road. I've been doing it since 1968 with Street & Smith's Basketball Yearbook. I used to be thrilled when UK got 1 or 2 guys from S&S's book that were on the top 3 teams of recruits. Still have all the books, marked up with my notes. That's where we are missing the boat and other coaches are getting rich with it. You only need 1 or 2 of the top 10 kids added to some retainees and some really good 4 & 3 star kids who learn and turn into good NBA recruits. This crap of Cal having to get 4 or 5 of the 5 stars and scraping up whats left of the 4 and 3 star kids. He's nothing like Joe B or Tubby, or for that matter Rick. They had good teams who competed and won1 championship, just like Cal. In reality he is no better than any of our previous coaches. He has blown more championships than the others. I'm sure his replacement will do well, whenever the change is made.

I don't think any of the top recruites want to play here after the season we've had so far.

Funny Mel, do you want to tell me who has 4 of the top 10 players in the '23 class in their recruiting class? Including the NUMBER 1 player in the class!

I'll hang up and listen!

Looks like UNC decided to quit worrying about the 2023 class and concentrate on 2024. They have four signed players for 2024, #'s 2, 8, 27, and 56. No telling whewre those guys will be rated by the time they sign the official papers. UK has seen that happen before. They also are leading on 2 others, #'s 10 and 12. Looks like a solid recruiting class to make up for what they have now. [Wink]

UNC doesn't lose numerous players a year, so they don't usually have large recruiting classes. As far as the 23 class their is at least one 24 recruit that is thinking about changing classes to the 23 class. They will use the portal to get another player or two depending on who leaves this year. I am not into getting 5 one and done players every year. How many teams win the NCAA Championship with that type of recruiting ???

Cal is a perfect example of that. He has 1 in 13 years. That was because he had the #1 and #2 kids in the draft. And other top 10 kids. They won it, he didn't. He just got lucky and had several of the top kids decide to come to UK.
