Kentucky recruit Hunter Sallis is considered one of the top prospects in all of high school basketball, and for good reason. Known for his quickness, pure scoring ability and size, the five-star guard comes in ranked as high as No. 6 in the nation in both Rivals’ and 247Sports’ updated recruiting rankings.
And if he keeps doing what he did last night, his ranking may go up even further.
In a blowout 95-46 victory, the Kentucky target finished with a smooth 21 points, including a steal and dunk that landed him on the SportsCenter Top 10.
Sallis, a 6-foot-5 guard out of Omaha, Neb., cut his list down to eight back in November, leaving Kentucky, North Carolina, Gonzaga, Iowa State, Kansas, UCLA, Creighton and Oregon as remaining finalists.
Back in October, Sallis told KSR that a handful of programs were prioritizing him the most at this point in time, headlined by Kentucky.
“I feel like Kentucky is one of them, Gonzaga, Iowa State, Oregon, North Carolina really is, Kansas, and there are a couple more,” Sallis told KSR. “Those are the schools that are showing them they really want me and they have a really big interest in me.”
In particular, the 6-foot-5 guard is intrigued by UK’s versatile system that allows its guards to play both on- and off-ball.
