From KSR:

Zion Williamson says he’s nearing a decision; unfortunately, according to recruiting experts, Clemson’s still the leader.

Both Rivals’ Corey Evans and the Herald-Leader’s Ben Roberts are reporting that Clemson continues to lead for Williamson, the five-star phenom primed to be the most exciting player in college basketball next season.

“Clemson has gained the most talk of late,” Evans writes. “Brad Brownell has his team off to its best start since he took over the ACC program, which definitely bodes well regarding their chances. Williamson and his family have also been big proponents in representing the state of South Carolina, hence playing for a travel program named the South Carolina Supreme, and have been loyal to his Spartanburg Day School bunch. Williamson’s stepfather also played for Clemson from 1981-1983, giving the Tigers another inside track for him.”

Ben Roberts says he’s also hearing Clemson has the momentum in the final stretch.

“We’ve been hearing that the decision could actually come in the next couple of weeks, and it’s worth noting that Williamson’s team has a game set to be televised by ESPN on Jan. 13. We’ve also been told that local option Clemson is the team to beat heading into the new year.”

Ugh. Kevin Knox’s recruitment taught us that nobody really knows until the very end, but hopefully Zion remembers how well going to Kentucky worked out for fellow mixtape superstar John Wall.

Lets hope the play of guys like Knox and Washington don't discourage him from UK. The way they are playing he may think they both will not be one and dones. Thus more competition for playing time at UK. Jones and Wynyards play is not helping the situation either. Thus Brown's recruitment could be affected the same.

The way things have been going for all our big guys it's not helping us with Williamson and Brown. There's a good chance we won't get either one now. EJ Montgomery is still on the board but we may be thru unless Cal finds an unknown out there.
