I bought a bottle of Jefferson's Reserve Old Rum Cask Finish whiskey at Christmas time. It's the best whiskey I've ever had in my life. Period! It's a touch pricey but very well worth it.

Sounds nice!
My son-in-law won a bottle of Pappy, I told him it would be a great gift for his father in law, after all I let him marry my daughter who is no doubt the best thing that ever happened to him.

I like a good whiskey, I'll have to try it. My favorite whiskey is Maker's Mark.

I haven't had that particular expression from Jefferson Reserve, but their "Ocean" is also good. They actually load the barrels onto a ship and sail it around to pick up the sea spray.

My go-to bourbon, though, is Four Roses Single Barrel. Delicious, spicy due to the high rye content in the mash bill, and not crazy expensive.

Tiptree, four roses single barrel is my favorite as well. Too coldly for me as a daily pour. Elijah Craig occupies that role.

I don’t care for the regular four roses, but the single barrel is like drinking a great dessert to me.

Strawberry Hill for the win in high school.

I grew up in a dry county, which was no big deal. Bootleggers don’t ask for ID.

Ed is right. The basic "Four Roses" is as close to rot-gut as one can get. But their top-tier expressions are excellent.

Now, MD20-20 and Boones Farm bring back some memories. Awful ones, but definitely memories.

BCD, I grew up in a dry county too. Never had to deal with bootleggers... Just drove across the county line. If you were tall enough to see above the counter, you could buy. [Smile]

I also grew up in a dry county which is located on the state line separated by the Ohio River. Now I live in the county that bordered my county. The county I grew up in is now wet, with 3 liquor stores. My mother is besides herself. She's been a tetotaler my entire life!
