We are going to Owensboro shortly, to get our first COVID vaccinations. We could not get the shots at Baptist Health in Madisonville, because "our primary care provider is not affiliated with them". They said we could get it there IF we changed family doctors! I did not say what I thought, but it involves a kiss. We have been with this doctor, and gone to church with his wife, for about 30 years!

Norm, did you have any reaction to the shot? My son got his and felt terrible the next day.

I did not, but poor Millie had the "Puke'n'trots" all day yesterday. She's fine today.

I got my first one yesterday. I felt fine until about 3 hours ago. Slight fever and aches, but nothing you'd consider abnormal really. I had the Rona back in November and do NOT want it again. I'll be a guinea pig.
I served 32 years in the military, who knows what concoction of drugs is flowing through my fat filled veins.

We got ours at the local Publix on Sunday and my wife had a reaction but I didn't.

My wife and I got our first Pfizer vaccine almost three weeks ago and plan on getting our second one next Friday (February 19). We had no problems and no symptoms except very slight soreness in the injection site.
I had a myocardial infarction (12/11/19) and after getting out of the nursing home, my doctor said I could not work any more. Then the Covid-19 problem came along and I have not been able to attend church worship for more than one year. I plan on getting to go back and worship after I get my second immunization.

First shot today, Pfizer. Went across the river to UC Health, my primary physician is there. It was a drive through site, I didn't even have to get out of the truck. It took about 45-50 minutes from the time I got in line, received the shot, scheduled the second appointment, waited the suggested time to allow for possible symptoms and exited the facility. They held it in a parking garage under one of their buildings.

I have to say, given the logistics of moving several hundred vehicles safely through that facility over the course of the day I think they did a wonderful job. The line to enter was possibly 45 vehicles long, requiring turning two corners then in to the garage. Once inside they simply checked ID and then they divided in to 2 lines, with 2 vaccination stations in each line. I preregistered so I have no idea what not doing so would have made things different. After the injection they had us drive to another level where they had 4 stations serving 2 vehicles each to schedule the second shot. I was then pointed to a few parking spots to wait out the 15 minute wait.

Here's the thing, this morning I got an email from UK Healthcare. I had registered for updates to get the vaccine at Commonwealth Stadium when available. I don't know how up to date the information that the email directed me to (it came with a personal access code to schedule an appointment) but right now I just looked and there were over 4500, yes four thousand and five hundred, possible appointment times from today, Tuesday, at 1:40 PM until 5:40 PM on Saturday, March 6.

Anyone needing or knowing someone in need of a vaccine and being qualified can register here UK HealthCare at Commonwealth Stadium .

I just tried the one for today, Tuesday, at 2:00 PM and it was available. It is a walk in site, go to the blue parking lot and enter gate 10.

Had I not already been scheduled I would have made the trip. It is but about 1 1/2 hour drive for me and today is a beautiful day for a drive. I don't know about the second shot, but a cup of coffee, some bluegrass on the radio and I am up to about any roadtrip.

I hope this helps some looking for a ready vaccine. My best guess is Kentucky residents only, and of course must be in the proper group, but even at that, when your group comes up, as mine did this week, you will get a notice in your email.

I hope those of you who have had the shot fair well through it. Those of you, and I am sure there are several, who have had the virus are recovering well.

Millie and I got the second Pfizer injection this afternoon in Owensboro. Our eldest daughter took the day off from her job at WKU because she didn't want me to drive. If I hadn't been there, I wouldn't even know I'd had it. Millie, on the other hand, has not felt so well this afternoon. In any case, we are glad to have been vaccinated.

Sorry to hear Millie has to go through that again Norm. My guess is that she is tough enough to get through it. Doesn't help now though.

My arm got a little sore to the touch, other than that all is well.

Same with me, Rick. I've had both Pfizer shots in different arms and my arms were sore the next morning with each of them. But it was mild and the soreness went away quickly.

Got my first Pfizer shot last Friday, and 9 days to my second one.

They just lowered the age to 50 here in Indiana, on the same day they lowered it to 55. Must be plenty available!

My wife and I received our second Pfizer immunization February 19 and we have had no problems. I plan on going to church worship this next Sunday for the first time in more than a year.

My wife is administering the shots. She's worked in the Walmart Pharmacy for 29 years now!

She's already had her 1st shot. I wasn't eligible until today!

I've been leading the music in our church since Thanksgiving as our song leader and her husband are high risk people!

We started church back up last May. We only average 35 for our Sunday morning worship.

Great news, Clydeh! It will feel good to be back in corporate worship.

MH, every time I reveal my singing chops in church, I am inevitably asked to sing solo... so low that nobody can hear me.

Tip,
I was not aware of how much I appreciated the hugs and handshakes and singing until I have missed them for so long.

We haven't been doing hugs and handshakes since we've returned. We call it "smile and wave" now!

I got my first shot last Thursday, and on Friday I felt like I had been hit by a truck. I had body ache, chills and extreme fatigue. Saturday I was just a bit tired and Sunday I was back to normal.
