National Signing Day is less than four weeks away and coach Mark Stoops and his Kentucky staff are putting the finishing touches on what looks to be a promising 2017 class.

The Wildcats had a flurry of prospects commit between their win over Louisville and bowl game against Georgia Tech, but there are a few more commitments Kentucky is chasing.

Every Friday until signing day, we’ll put together a recruiting snapshot to catch you up on how Kentucky’s 2017 class is looking.

Rivals ranks the Wildcats’ 2017 class No. 20, and 247Sports has UK 23rd. Rivals has the Cats 11th in the SEC ahead of Arkansas, Missouri and Vanderbilt. 247Sports also ranks Kentucky No. 11 in the conference ahead of Missouri, Ole Miss and Vanderbilt.

Who are Kentucky’s top 2017 commitments?

JaVonte Richardson has long been the gem of Kentucky’s class, as he committed on March 27. He’s a 4-star receiver prospect from Maple Heights, Ohio — one of many Ohio prospects recruited by tight ends coach Vince Marrow. Richardson is a big target for quarterbacks at 6-foot-4, 210 pounds.

Josh Paschal, a 4-star defensive end prospect from Olney, Md., is Kentucky’s No. 2 commit in the class. He had official visits to Oklahoma and Notre Dame, but Kentucky beat out those prestigious programs. Paschal is a top-300 prospect and one of the biggest gets for Kentucky.

Tyrell Ajian, a Mansfield, Ohio, prospect, is another of the Cats’ key commitments. A 6-foot-1, 185-pound athlete, Ajian is the No. 15 Ohio prospect and is projected to play defensive back for the Wildcats. Ajian, like Richardson, was recruited by Marrow. He picked UK over Ohio State and Notre Dame.
