: Pro-'CHOP' Mayor Outraged After BLM Protest Her Home [Video]

Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan was for CHOP (Capitol Hill Occupied Protest) encampments. That is until protesters landed in her front yard, literally. Durkan was reportedly outraged after BlackLivesMatter protesters set up outside her home after she announced that her office would no longer support the gathering. She was particularly angry at Counsel member Kshama Sawant for joining the protesters at her home.
Durkan released a statement she expressed her anger:

"Mayor Durkan and her family are in the state program to keep their address confidential because of the death threats mostly related to her work as Seattle's U.S. Attorney under President Obama. Instead of working to make true change, Councilmember Sawant continues to choose political stunts," read the statement from her office.
"Tonight she did so without regard for the safety of the Mayor and her family. The Mayor was not even home — she was working at City Hall. Seattle can and should peacefully demonstrate but should not put families and children at risk," the statement concluded.

Watch:

Anything else?
CHOP has delt another night of shootings. This time ending in the death of one teen while another teen was critically injured. Seatle Times detailed the event:
"A 16-year-old boy was killed and a 14-year-old boy was wounded early Monday morning when they were shot at 12th Avenue and East Pike Street in the protest area known as CHOP, in Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood.
The shooting amplified calls to bring law enforcement back to the East Precinct and shut down CHOP, though protesters say the violence isn’t connected to the movement and they won’t leave until their demands are met. Monday’s gun violence marked the second fatal shooting of a teenager in the area in a little over a week — Lorenzo Anderson, 19, died after being shot at the edge of the protest area in the early morning hours of June 20."
Isn't it ironic that the Mayor who allowed and supported the CHAZ (Capitol Hill Auttomnous Zone) in her city would find it 'dangerous' outside of her own home? It's interesting how opinions change whenever circumstances directly affect politicians.

Oh yeah !!!

I feel for her neighbors and her kids but not for her and her husband. It is ok to damage someone else's property and businesses but not hers.

If I were the parents of the kids that were shot and killed I would be filling a huge lawsuit against her and the city of Seattle. I would go for as much money as I could and I would also make them rename the City of Seattle to the City of my last name !!! [Smile] There is absolutely no way the parents can't win this lawsuit since she is the one that ran the police out of there and now the police, fire department and ambulances can't get into the area. Totally lack of leadership in her city !!!

Clearing it out today with tax payers money !!! The cost ought to come out of the mayor's pocket since she is the one that let them set it up and ran the police out !!!
