My sister and her husband live about 10 miles from you. He is retired but takes care of a private hunting lodge near his home. He was checking his trail camera and this morning he sent me several pictures of a bear. I've never heard of a bear in western Ky. Thought you might find this interesting.

Handy, Norm is only interested in it if it is a FISH. He is a renowned fisherman, .don't think he does a lot of hunting these days.
I know my relatives in Eastern Kentucky are telling me there are deer, bear and even elk in their part of the world these days, all brought in through some kind of relocate program. [ 10-21-2018, 09:33 AM: Message edited by: SCWC ]

SCWC, I know Norm loves to fish but I bet as soon as he reads this he gets his knife out and goes bear hunting. I just hope he invites us all over for a bear fry.
I don't think there has been a relocation program for bear in that area but Norm would probably know. [ 10-21-2018, 09:44 AM: Message edited by: handycat ]

I don't know about any relocation program, but there have been several spotted in our area recently. By the way, I don't bear hunt with a knife. To make it fair, I use a switch. I know of one hunting lodge near here. It is on Hickory Ridge.

Norm, I talked to my family in your area and they all have heard of a man in Dawson Springs that hunted bear with his bare hands in his younger years. They also said now that he was older that he had to have the aid of a switch. I'm assuming they were talking about you. Getting older takes its toll on all of us.
