With today's actions that leaves only Oscar and Ware to tell us of their plans. WAre would be better off in the transfer pool where he could get a bigger playing role at another school. I think they're gonna work the NIL for Oscar to stay at UK. We should have another great team that may or may not challenge foer the final four again. [Confused]

It might be devastating if Oscar goes pro, which I think he will. If we have to rely on Ware as our inside presence next year, it won't be pretty.

I think Ware is a better center than many here believe, but not up to Tshiewbe's quality... but who is? I don't think Ware is the kind of big man that you build your offense around, but he would be good as the sole big for a true motion offense/dribble drive. Not that he couldn't improve... that is something we all pine for (players that stay four years and improve every year). But if Tshiewbe goes, and we want to "feature" a center in our offense, I think Collins is most likely step up to the starter role.

Collins is a totally different type of big man than Oscar. He certainly has hops and can defend the rim, and displayed some offensive potential beyond dunks and alley-oops. But he needs more bulk/muscle to hold his position in the paint. To me, he looks to be the best candidate we have returning. I hope he spends his off-season in the weight room. [Smile]

Now we wait on the final decisions of Brooks and Toppin. I would really like to have Toppin back. I have mixed feeling about Brooks. I really like him, and he has skill, but he is so inconsistent.

Ga Cat, fully agree. If Brooks played with focus and consistency, he would be the clear choice. He sometimes startles me when he "wakes up" and leaps higher than a human his size should.

But Toppin is hard to ignore, given his athleticism and energy. He would get the nod from me as well. If he can't keep that level of play with starter minutes, then reassess.
