The Kentucky Wildcats’ 2022 recruiting class is in a great spot and is likely to turn out to be one of if not the best in the country. As of right now, the Cats hold one commitment in the class and that is from 5-star guard Skyy Clark.

Unfortunately, Clark recently suffered a partially torn ACL and as of Saturday, he has had the necessary surgery.

Following his operation, Clark had an interview with Jason Jordan of Sports Illustrated where he discussed his recovery.

Clark noted that less than 24 hours after surgery, he completed his first rehab session and is working on other aspects of his game while sitting in a chair.

“It was tough, but it was good,” Clark said. “Other than my rehab, I’m doing stuff in the chair like form shooting and dribbling. I’m just doing whatever I can.”

Clark added that he is eyeing a January return to the court.

Aside from his injury update, Clark dropped some interesting recruiting news as well.

Clark noted that the entire Kentucky coaching staff, school, and fanbase have been nothing but supportive of him in this process.

So, to pay it back he has been spending his extra free time as a recruiter trying to get other top players in the 2022 class to join him in Lexington. Clark would add that he is expecting the Cats to pick up some more commitments soon.

“We should have two guys coming soon, I’m hoping,” Clark said. “I’m saying two are coming in the next couple of days or weeks, and hopefully we’ll get a third. That’s what I’m hoping. Just be on the lookout. You heard it here first.”

That is some massive news for the Cats and could just be the beginning of a monstrous recruiting class for John Calipari and his new coaching staff that now includes recruiting ace Orlando Antigua.

Based on recent recruiting buzz, one of those guys would likely be Shaedon Sharpe.

As for the other 1-2 guys, the only Kentucky target set to decide soon is Jalen Duren, who has to make his choice soon if he’s going to reclassify and be on a college campus when classes start in the coming weeks.

Other 2022 recruits Kentucky is in contention for include Brandon Miller, Cason Wallace, Nick Smith Jr., and Dereck Lively II.
