Experience is definitely beating talent so far today. At least Sarr has showed up to play, today.

I've always said cal can recruit, but his ingame coaching is horrible. He is unwilling to adapt. It's all about showcasing individual players instead of playing team ball. He's been lucky to just be able to Roll the ball out with a couple of teams, ie. 2012- 2015.

I couldn't disagree with you more. Cal DOES develop his team's offense, but it isn't his early-season priority. Look back at the offensive sets the Davis-led team ran, or the one with KAT. Those were solid, effective half-court offenses. He certainly didn't just "roll the ball out'.

We had ZERO exhibition games, so this is the second time this team has seen anything other than UK practice jersies. So, yeah, we looked young, and confused, and ineffective. THIS HAPPENS EVERY YEAR, but usually we have the chance to work out some kinks against several patsies. We had Morehead State on Tuesday, and then BAM! A seasoned, efficient, confident team showed us all our weaknesses.

I think that by the end of this season, we will have a very efficient offense and a disruptive defense. Cal will get them there. If he had the luxury of blending in one or two freshmen with an upperclassman heavy team, we wouldn't look so awkward every November.

The one thing that really gets me is how many of these 5-star recruits Cal gets that can't make a shot from outside. It should be impossible for a college team to play an entire game and not make one 3-point shot.

0-10 on 3-pointers and 13 missed free throws. Like Trey insinuated in another post, you're not gonna be too successful without 3-point shooting in today's game. It's too easy to get beat by mid-majors if you can't shoot from outside because most of the mid-majors can shoot.

Tiptree ^ Exactly. I'm excited about this team. A few more practice games were needed, no doubt, but in 2020 it's not an option. So into the fray they go, sink or swim. Go Cats!

IMO, Cal's coaching should be better than this, we shouldn't have to wait until February every year to start playing good basketball.
