Johnny Juzang was originally one of the top prospects in the 2020 recruiting class before reclassifying last offseason to immediately take the court for this past season. He then proceeded to ink his commitment to play under head coach John Calipari with the Kentucky Wildcats. Yet, even though he was ranked as the No. 33 overall freshman in the country, Juzang was not able to find a starring role in Lexington over the course of the campaign.

He appeared in 28 total contests for the Wildcats, starting two of them, and averaged 2.9 points and 1.9 rebounds in 12.3 minutes per game. Following the campaign, Juzang elected to enter the transfer portal and is looking to continue his career elsewhere. Considering he is just a year removed from being a Top 50 recruit, it should not come as a surprise that Juzang has been heavily targeted by top-tier programs since choosing to transfer.

Juzang’s transfer recruitment was initially relatively quiet but he did announce his top six teams on March 31st: Notre Dame, Villanova, Texas Tech, Oregon, UCLA, and Arizona. It is important to mention that he is originally from California, so those schools out west could have an advantage in this transfer recruitment.
