I’d like to thank whoever hid Hagans car keys.

Sometimes these boys are dead set on leaving after 1 season. PJ may have helped Cal more than he realizes by hanging around for a second season! Ashton had a pretty good stretch back in Dec. so we see his potential but he needs to learn to shut down the straight line drive to the basket!

And he needs to cut down on his turnovers. He is a good ball handler but makes some bad decisions in taking the ball in the lane from time to time. He had 7 turnovers in our game against Auburn, that was decisive in that loss. He has a lot of talent, hopefully another year of maturity will get him a first round pass to the NBA. Hagans averaged 7.7 points per game, 2.6 boards, 4.3 assists, shooting 46.7 % from the field and turned the ball over 2 times a game in 20 minutes of playing time per game. [ 04-10-2019, 12:01 PM: Message edited by: catmandoo ]

Hagans staying might be a great thing. I think he has all the tools, but just hasn't been able to put them together consistently. He could be a gem next year. And when other guards see how he's using college to get better, rather than the G-League, we might be able to keep some in-between guards more than one year.
But this is probably just wishful thinking.

You may be right Paul. PJ staying another year may have influenced him as well. He went from possibly not being drafted to a possible lottery pick.

Hagans stats IMO warrant another year but it seems like now a days players want to get to the NBA ASAP. The downside is it isn't "always" the best decision like Paul points out.
