We win the SEC tournament and got a 5 seed and stuck in Idaho. The NCAA just loves us!

Never surprised. They always want to give UK the most difficult path possible.

Also, how to you put UT and Kentucky in the same South Region? You are supposed to try and avoid regular season matchups. Not that either would get there but that would be a 4th game between the two schools.

South Bracket is loaded.

Wife's Mad. Told me we never talk anymore. And just last nite while watching super bowl told her 2 or 3 times to get me a coke and popcorn. Also told her not to forget to take out trash in the morning. Ain't that something. Also told me I was too indecisive. Can't figure out what to do about that. One nice thing I guess. She called me a pro crastinator. Don't know what a crastinator is but I guess I'm a good one for her to call me a pro. Gonna wait til tomorrow to look that up though. I love her but somrtimes can't help but thinking I should have told uncle Junior to keep his coon hound pup and stevens double barrel and also his youngest daughter.

North Carolina gets 2 seed with 10 losses and plays in their back yard. Incredible!

If I live to be 83 (which will be next month), I'll never understand how UNC gets a 2 seed, when there are at least 10 or 12 teams out there with a better record. They have one more win than UK and the same amount of losses. And we are a 5? Geeeez!

Let me help you with that Norm. They are UNC while we are UK AND they play in the ACC. Hope this will clarify this situation for you.

Trey, remember years ago when they put Ky and LSU in the same bracket, Ky had beaten LSU twice during the regular season and in the SEC tournament but LSU knocked us out of the tournament in the 4th game we played that year. It certainly is not right to put Ky and Tenn in the same bracket, two teams that have already played three times. I guess with the SEC having 8 teams in, they have to have two teams in each bracket though.

Screwed again. The winner of 1 of the top 2 conferences, according to most, gets a 5 seed. UNC gets not only a 2 seed, but they get the highest 2 seed. They are in the easiest bracket and I will pray that they get upset early. I was really hoping we would get on their side so we could beat them. How they are higher than MSU and Arizona, I will never understand. We get the wonderful gift of playing Arizona int he second round if we win. Just unbelievable. I was expecting it, but I still just can't believe how bad they continue to screw us.

1986 and Ricky Blanton. I will never forget it. UK could have won it that year IMO.

No doubt that two SEC would have to be in the bracket. I just don't understand why you would put UK and UT in the same bracket. Seems like UK could have been paired with Auburn/Arkansas since UK only played each of those teams once.

Seems as though the committee gets worse every single year.

I mean if Virginia is the overall #1 Seed they should get the easiest path (now I will say there first weekend is easy), but somehow they end up with the strongest 2 seed IMO, the second strongest 3 seed (I'm not sure how Michigan State got a 3 seed, I thought they should have been a #1 Seed instead of Xavier), the strongest #4 Seed and maybe the most talented team in the country (definitely the most talented player), and the strongest #5. Put another way:

Virginia - ACC Regular Season and Tourney Champion
Cincinnati - American Regular Season and Tourney Champion
UT - SEC Regular Season Champion and Tourney Runner Up
Arizona - PAC 10 Regular Season and Tourney Champion
Kentucky - SEC Tournament Champion

I'm not sure there is another bracket that can even come close to that for the Top 5 Seeds.

Some reward for Virginia for being the #1 overall.

That's what I've been thinking, Trey. Imagine being Virginia and having to look at either UK or Arizona in the Sweet 16!!! Ouch.

Here are the 4 & 5 seeds in each region:

UK/Arizona
Gonzaga/Ohio St
Wichita St/West Virginia
Auburn/Clemson

Yeah, if I were Virginia (the overall #1 seed) I would be wondering what the heck the seeding commission was thinking.

But you know what? It just makes it sweeter when you win these kind of games. I really don't see it happening, but can you imagine if we knock off Arizona and Virginia in successive games? That would be just unbelievable.

Crazy seed list. They should honestly just do away with have the Athletic Directors on this stupid committee and move it to actual basketball people on the committee.

The committee lost all credibility in my mind once CM Newton was no longer leading the committee or involved with it. He always seemed to be the only one with any basketball knowledge.

I think the committee pays too much attention to wins and losses. So if your in a weak conference but have 3-6 losses then you will have a great seed and playing location. Also the committee talked about some teams that were awarded with playing a tough schedule but didn't win the tough games so who cares.

The sad part of all this is that our own AD, Mitch Barnhart is a member of the selection committee, he really looks out for his own team. North Carolina is the only team that gets one of the top four seeds with a double digit loss record, 25 and 10. That is just flat out wrong.

They are just making certain that UK does not catch UCLA and the basketball God, John Wooden. Only Krybaby and Cryin' Roy are candidates for that job.

Good thing Mitch was there. No telling where Kentucky would have been had he not been involved.

UK’s path to title if seeds hold:

Davidson - A-10 Tourney Champs (one of the hottest teams playing at the moment with a BPI of 32, nice 12 Seed)
Arizona - PAC 12 Champions both Regular Season and Tourney
Virginia - ACC Champions Reg Season and Tournament
Cincinnati - American Champions Reg Season and Tournament.
Villanova - Big East Champions Reg Season and Tournament
Kansas - Big 12 Champions Reg Season and Tournament.

So UK’s projected 6 opponents would hold 11 conference titles. No other team has a path even remotely as difficult as that. Technically speaking all #16 seeds have an easier path to the title than Kentucky does. That is insane.

The cats are favored by 6 points over Davidson in the early Vegas line. That might be the smallest spread ever in the NCAA between a 5 and 12 seed.

That is just insane to think about what we have to do in this tournament. I'm still lost of why we are so hated by the committee and NCAA. Really what the heck did we do wrong? I complain to my friends about our seeding and they all go blah blah blah and thinks all we do is gripe and complain. So frustrating!

I don't look at this as UK getting screwed. Virginia, Arizona and UC are the teams that are getting screwed. Virginia - they are getting screwed royally. The only consolation is that they won't have to play both UK and Arizona - just one of them. We're a 5-seed, so we have to play higher seeds to advance anyway. The good thing is that the wins are sweeter when you beat the better teams.

Handy, after last years win over UCLA in the tournament I was so pumped up that I cracked open my bottle of Calipari Makers Mark and poured me a glass. Beating the higher-seeded teams always makes me feel great.

We were actually seeded better than UCLA last season, we were seeded a 2 and they were seeded as a 3. That game really pumped me up too, seeing Fox have Ball for dinner was certainly a thing of beauty.

I'm know this will never happen but I would like to see the match-ups be a blind draw like the Kentucky High School State tournament is done.

Throw every D1 team not on probation into a big pool then match them up by a blind draw. If the #1 team in the country draws the #2 team in the first round, then so be it. Might make for some interesting tournaments. It would take about 2 months to get it done, but what fun.
