Box Score

We are caught without a point guard this season. Alexander nor Green are major division one point guards, Alexander killed us with his six turnovers. Another major disappointment was the play of Richards and PJ Washington, they contributed very little to help our team tonight. We actually out rebounded them for the game after being down by 11 at half time.

UK is simply not very good and Kansas is not much better. Duke and MSU is so much better than either UK or Kansas.

Curious that Cal didn’t have Green in the last minute. Alexander was simply awful. Only 6 TO’s but his teammates probably saved at least 4 more. They never got into an offense with him leading the half court offense.

No shooters on this team either.

Jones was the only bright spot tonight IMO.

Diallo is weak and avoids contact and his jump shot is non existent. Same with Gabriel. UK is simply a team that can probably be a #6 seed and maybe get to the Sweet 16.

I really don’t see how Duke doesn’t cruise to the title this year. They are dominant like the 2012 UK team and they will be the favorite next year as well.

Wife's Mad. Told me we never talk anymore. And just last nite while watching super bowl told her 2 or 3 times to get me a coke and popcorn. Also told her not to forget to take out trash in the morning. Ain't that something. Also told me I was too indecisive. Can't figure out what to do about that. One nice thing I guess. She called me a pro crastinator. Don't know what a crastinator is but I guess I'm a good one for her to call me a pro. Gonna wait til tomorrow to look that up though. I love her but somrtimes can't help but thinking I should have told uncle Junior to keep his coon hound pup and stevens double barrel and also his youngest daughter.

I thought Knox showed some flashes tonight too, Trey. This was my first game watched live this season. The team looks young, and lots of individuals have talent, but they clearly aren't a team yet.

it's a good think UK didn't play MSU or Duke, we would have been run out of the building.

I will wait to see this team in February before I write them off. Cal is very deliberate in how he introduces topics. He hasn't had a chance to put in a complete offense, much less practice it enough for the team to really execute well. And defensively, the team has a LOT to learn.

But, there is a lot of athleticism out there.

I expect this might be another 10-loss season, but it may also see a team that jells and goes on a deep tournament run. The pieces are there, but they are raw individuals, needing a lot of coaching and time to figure this game out.

This game was just about what I expected. We would find out who the men are and who the boys are. SKJ and Knox were men tonight. Richards and Washington were little boys.

I just don't see anything special in Richards. He's soft and plays slow and lazy. SKJ should get his minutes all day long. Washington has potential - he just needs time. Same for Diallo.

And either Green or Gilgeous WILL step up and be a leader of this team. Just give them time, fellas.

I actually feel better about this team after last nights loss. I don't think a national championship is in our future but now believe they can compete with just about anybody on a given night. Looking forward to a fun season and that's a big change for me.

And Duke start 4 freshmen and 1 senior, all of their freshmen were ranked 1,3 5 and 9, our highest ranked recruit was Knox at 10.

I was pleasantly surprised by the game. I thought Kansas would roll us, but hung in well, and could have won. Definitely was disappointed in the rebounding, especially the first half. But they competed, and I think we can get alot better by the tournament. I still see 8-10 losses and a sweet 16 finish, but who knows. Maybe they gel in the SEC tournament and bring it all together. I would have liked to have seen some zone. I think that can be our best defense. Duke used zone against MSU all night, and it worked great. Our length would really lead to an effective zone defense. I didn't see much of the 2nd half, did we play zone at all?

I am really not worried about this team after watching them play an experienced, senior laden Kansas team. Yeah, they'll lose some more games, but I expect them to do really well in the NCAA tournament. Hide and watch!
