Had it been UK, we would probably have gotten the death penalty for a couple of years.

The way I read it is that the Cards will forfeit their championship.
I am still surprised The Tarheels have gotten away without any penalties. Widespread academic fraud is a much more serious crime and should have resulted in the death penalty of a lot of sports programs, including mens basketball.

Has the UNC investigation concluded?
Rick and the rest of Louisville can cry all they want - I feel the penalties were fair and well-deserved. Run a clean program and you won't have to worry about this kind of stuff.

We do not hear much about the UNC investigation anymore. It looks like they are going to get away with murder and keep a couple of championships they won with players who took those fake courses. UNC and Duke are the holy grails of college basketball and appear to be untouchable by the NCAA for some reason or another.
As for U of L, It does read like they will have to forfeit their 2013 National Championship but I bet they will let them keep it.

Would that mean Rick Pitino would have his championship tattoo removed via skin graft.

I was hoping slick Rick would get 1 year ban. That might have made him change his recruiting tactics.
You don't ever tell a young kid like McGee do what ever you have to do, to get them to sign on the dotted line before they leave campus.
Sounds to me Pitino gave McGee a free hand to do as he wanted. Oh well Pitino slides thru another scandal.

I thought the NCAA gave them a slap on the wrist. They treat the ACC like the King of all conferences. [ 06-19-2017, 09:55 AM: Message edited by: blue hoot ]
