Texas Tech was 13-19 last year. This year, with first-year coach Billy Gillespie, they are currently 7-15 and enjoying a 10-game losing streak. This will most likely be his last D-1 coaching job.

Looking at their schedule of up coming games, it doesn't look good for them.

I am by no means defending BCG, but was he left with any talent when he took the job? I am not sure how much stayed when Pat Knight was canned.

Never was a fan of Gillespie even when he was at Texas A&M.

CFITM, nothing could be further from the truth. Tubby left him with a ton of talent with 2 players being stars still playing and will be for along time in the NBA.

Patrick Patterson-NBA
Joe Crawford-NBA
Ramel Bradley-Professional basketball
Jodie Meeks-NBA
Perry Stevenson- ranks fifth on UK's all-time blocked shots list with 160.

Ramon Harris-Played in D league NBA and in China.
Derrick Jasper-Sad story not ever worth comment on what Gillispie did to him.

He actually was left with fairly decent talent at Texas Tech but he ran them all off before the season started. Several left when they found out he was the coach. He even ran off an assistant that he had hired and only stayed on his staff for one month. He is still the same old Billy Gillispie we saw at UK and I am very suprised that Texas Tech hired him, but then again, they hired Bobby Knight, guess that is enough said.

I agree with Bruce, he inherited a pretty decent team at UK and proceeded to destroy it.

CMD, I know he was left talent at UK, my question was how much talent was he left at Texas Tech.

Texas Tech lost tonight 47-38. 38!!!! Wow. Recruits ought to be lining up to play for BCG. He played only six players tonight - three played 40 minutes, one played 38, one played 34 and one played 8 minutes. He probably WAS left with a bare cupboard.

I watched a little of that game. They showed a close-up of BCG arguing with a referee. I gagged.
