Kentucky’s 2022 recruiting class is beginning to take shape and it could add another piece later today. The coaching staff has already secured commitments from four impressive high school juniors, two of them ranked as consensus four-star players. Three of the four commitments have come within the last four weeks. Much like Grant Bingham and Treyveon Longmire recently did, according to our own Matt Jones, there will be another commitment live on KSR during the Thursday edition.
Who will it be and where might he be choosing? I think we know the answer to the second part, so I’ll let you guess on the first half of the question.
But the momentum won’t stop there. Kiyaunta Goodwin, a 4-star OT and top 50 player across the nation, will reportedly announce his college decision on April 17 and it appears that the battle will come down to Ohio State and Kentucky for the services of the Louisville native. Recruiting experts are starting to trend in favor of Goodwin choosing UK and with an announcement coming soon, the coaching staff likely feels good about where they stand.
Oh, also, a set of twins, Keaten and Destin Wade, will decide their college decision a day before Goodwin on April 16. Keaten is a four-star linebacker ranked in the top 150 while Destin is a three-star who doubles as a quarterback and defensive back. Kentucky is in both of their top fours, along with Virginia, Louisville, and Tennessee, with experts narrowing the field down to the ‘Cats or Vols.
These are unprecedented times for Kentucky in the football recruiting realm. Get those dice ready!
