Yesterday’s loss was disheartening in so many ways, but I think it also exposed the fact that our QB situation doesn’t look any better for the future. Gatewood nor Allen showed any signs of being efficient SEC quarterbacks.
It could be we simply don’t have SEC receivers, or it could be Gran’s play calling, but I haven’t seen anything to give me hope that next year’s passing game will be any better.
Bama’s defense is good this year, but it isn’t elite like in years past. No way we should have gained less than 30 yards in the entire 2nd half. To compete in the SEC we must have a passing game. Pitiful excuse for football, let alone SEC football.

The whole offense and defense need new schemes. We have to be more balanced on offense, not so one dimensional, and playing a zone defense isn't working. We obviously don't have the athleticism to play with the upper tier teams. Stoops has done a good job, but eight years in we're still light years away from competing for a sec championship.

We have to get talent and it's obvious we have a ways to go. Hopefully we will start recruiting better talent and soon or it's going to be the same old same old. The last 4 years wasn't bad but this year not so good.

You cannot play a zone defense against a superior passer like Bama had. That is just stupid. We have some good DBs, let them play man to man.

I do think that Allen is our QB for the future. He showed promise last week, completing some passes with accuracy and touch. Gatewood is a disaster under center, IMO. He can't run OR pass.

I always resisted those who thought Gran's play calling was bad, but now I have to agree. After moving the ball successfully in the first quarter, we just gave up and played ridiculous offensive football. With our O-line, we could have done better with some motion, some passing, and some running.

It sure would have been nice to have had our nonconference games this year. At least we knew that we had a chance in those games. Some of these SEC games there's no hope, you just don't know how bad that we'll get beat.

I'm 53 years old and don't expect UK to win an SEC championship in my lifetime. And I've never been a fan of Gran. He was supposed to be the offensive guru when he came here, but all I've ever seen is a high-school offense. Granted, he doesn't have 5-star players to work with, but Terry Wilson averages only 118 yards per game passing. That's downright awful. Clemson's BACKUP quarterback has started two games with the starter out with COVID, and he's thrown for more yards than Wilson.
