#1 Alabama Crimson Tide (6-0)
Last week: #1
Alabama was set to face LSU in the yearly rivalry game but unfortunately the game was postponed due to issues with the coronavirus.
The undefeated Tide will look to take the field again this week and continue their impressive SEC dominance against a Kentucky team looking to bolster its postseason hopes and score one of the biggest wins in program history.
Week 12: vs Kentucky
#2 Texas A&M Aggies (5-1)
Last week: #2
The Aggies were going to have a very interesting matchup this week against a Tennessee team that was desperate for a win.
But due to COVID-19 the game had to be postponed. They’ll now prepare to face a red-hot Ole Miss offense in what should be one of the best games of Week 12.
Week 12: vs Ole Miss
#3 Florida Gators (5-1)
Last week: #3
The Gators were at home for a matchup with a surging Arkansas team that has caught teams by surprise this season. However, Florida’s offense proved to be too much as they rolled to a 63-35 win.
Once again, it was Kyle Trask dominating the game as he threw for 356 yards and 6 TDs setting an SEC record for most passing TDs through six games.
The way Trask has been playing I wouldn’t be shocked if he starts getting some Heisman talk in the coming weeks.
Week 12: @ Vanderbilt
#4 Georgia Bulldogs (4-2)
Last week: #4
The Bulldogs were looking to get a bounceback win this week when they traveled to face off with Missouri.
However, the game had to be postponed due to issues with COVID-19. The Bulldogs will now take on Mississippi State this coming week as they look to stay in the hunt for the SEC East title.
Week 12: vs Mississippi State
#5 Auburn Tigers (4-2)
Last week: #5
Last week was the Tigers’ official BYE week but like we have seen a lot in the SEC this week, their game against Mississippi State was postponed for COVID-19 issues.
They will be looking to get back on the winning track in Week 12.
Week 12: vs Tennessee
#6 Kentucky Wildcats (3-4)
Last week: #7
The Cats entered Week 11 in desperate need of a good offensive performance, and they got it as they put up 38 points in their win over Vanderbilt.
Unfortunately, unlike the rest of the season the defense didn’t show up allowing 35 points in the 38-35 win.
Terry Wilson was handed the keys back to the team and he made it count as he was 13/15 passing for 110 yards and 2 TDs while also rushing 7 times for 83 yards and a TD.
Week 12: @ Alabama
#7 Arkansas Razorbacks (3-4)
Last week: #6
It was a return to the swamp for current Arkansas and former Florida quarterback Feleipe Franks as the Razorbacks looked to make a huge statement on the road.
Franks had a very solid game passing for 250 yards and 2 TDs, but it wasn’t enough to keep up with the high-powered Gator offense as the Razorbacks lose it 63-35.
Despite the loss, it is safe to say that Arkansas is heading in the right direction.
Week 12: vs LSU
#8 LSU Tigers (2-3)
Last week: #8
It was rivalry week for the Tigers as they were set to face off with Alabama.
Unfortunately, we didn’t get to see the game happen as it was postponed with COVID-19 issues. And because LSU already has a rescheduled game for Dec. 12 — the week where many postponed league games will be made up — it’s unclear how the SEC is going to get Bama vs. LSU played.
Week 12: @ Arkansas
#9 Tennessee Volunteers (2-4)
Last week: #9
The Vols are in desperate need of a big win and they were going to have a chance to do that this week when they faced Texas A&M.
However, due to COVID-19 issues, the game had to be postponed to a later date. The Vols now travel to Auburn looking for a signature win that would also greatly increase the likelihood they make a bowl game.
Week 12: @ Auburn
#10 Ole Miss Rebels (3-4)
Last week: #12
The Rebels have been an outstanding offensive team all season, but they couldn’t get enough defensive stops to pull out many wins.
Against South Carolina, their offense was once again rolling and while the defense struggled, they were able to do just enough to get the 59-42 win.
It was a big game for Matt Corral as he passed for 513 yards and 4 TDs in the Week 11 shootout.
Week 12: @ Texas A&M
#11 Missouri Tigers (2-3)
Last week: #10
Missouri had already pulled off two upsets this season on their home field and they were looking to do it for a third time when Georgia came to town.
Shocker: Due to COVID-19 issues, the game had to be postponed to a later date. They’ll now play South Carolina in a game both teams desperately need for their postseason hopes.
Week 12: @ South Carolina
#12 South Carolina Gamecocks (2-5)
Last week: #11
The Gamecocks were needing to get a big win this week but were unable to get the job done in a 59-42 loss to Ole Miss.
It was a big day on the ground for the Gamecocks as Kevin Harris rushed for 243 yards and 5 TDs as the team finished with 318 yards rushing and 5 TDs.
Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough to keep up with the high-powered offense of Ole Miss in a shootout loss.
Week 12: vs Missouri
#13 Mississippi State Bulldogs (2-4)
Last week: #13
The Bulldogs were looking to build off their win over Vanderbilt last week when they faced off with Auburn at home.
However, COVID-19 did what COVID-19 does. Now they’ll be heavy underdogs in Athens against Georgia next week.
Week 12: @ Georgia
#14 Vanderbilt Commodores (0-6)
Last week: #14
Vanderbilt looked to be on their way to yet another blowout loss as they made the trip to Kentucky.
However, despite being down 17 in the second half, the Commodores were able to claw their way back and had a chance to recover an onside kick to have a chance to either win it or force overtime.
But it was Kentucky recovering the kick and the Commodores drop to 0-6 after a 38-35 loss in Lexington. Looking at the rest of the schedule, there’s a good chance the Dores finish 0-10 and likely part ways with embattled head coach Derek Mason.
