Dose anybody know if redshirt players such as Gunner Hoak could play in the bowl game and not lose a whole year of eligibility?

I thought I heard one time, since the season is over the bowl game counts as the next year and redshirts can play without losing that redshirt year.

No, they would lose their redshirt. The bowl game counts toward this academic year, not the next. The NCAA defines a redshirt as a player who does not compete in any games for a full academic year or one who competes in less than 30% and applies for and gets and medical hardship exception.
