Defensive coordinator D.J. Eliot said the focus during the bye week is fundamentals. "Worry about the little things, worry about each player and what he needs to do, where he is right now, where he needs to go and how we’re going to get him there. So it’s a big fundamental week. It’s a week we get to go against the offense, good on good against the offense again."

-Eliot said Kengera Daniel, Jordan Bonner and Alvonte Bell have been getting more looks at outside linebacker with all the injuries UK is dealing with at that spot. Eliot acknowledged they've been "leaning on our ones a lot," but likes how Josh Allen and Denzil Ware have played of late.

-On Daniel's fourth down stop against Vanderbilt last week, Eliot said "arguably it could have won us the game." He was pleased to see Daniel step up and make a play in a pressure situation.
