Kentucky sophomore Denzil Ware knows a lot is expected of him during UK’s 2016 football season and that’s fine with him.
“I don’t feel no pressure. If you come here, you’ve got to become a man,” said Ware. “I am not a little boy any more. It’s not like high school. I don’t see any pressure. I just go out and play.”
He’s actually one of the more experienced linebackers returning at UK after the off-season dismissal of Jason Hatcher.
“I am still learning, too, but if somebody comes to me with a question or needing help, I will give all the information I know. I go help them. Jabari, Hatcher did the same for me. I try to be a leader as they were to me,” Ware said.
“We are basically starting over with the linebackers this year. That’s what it looks like but talent-wise I feel like we can compete with anybody,” Ware said.
“Technique-wise, I have come a long way. I feel a lot better than I did last year. I have experience to my game now. I feel way better than when I first stepped on the field. But I still have a lot to learn. Becoming a veteran means no mistakes. I am far from that.”
