Redshirt freshman quarterback Drew Barker had his first career start Saturday night in Commonwealth Stadium against the Charlotte 49ers, and later talked about that being his first full game since high school.
In preparation, Barker talked about how he watched a lot of film and spent a lot of time trying to get his mind right going into the game that Kentucky dominated.
Barker is excited about the momentum this gave the team going into a game against Louisville this week that could provide a possible bowl berth in this team’s one game season.
Barker’s personal grade for himself Saturday night would’ve been a C. He talked about the tremendous run game Kentucky had and how the weather conditions affected passing and some passes being dropped that he knows could’ve been caught in normal weather.
The team appreciated the loyal fans that came out in the bitter cold and is anticipating an incredible atmosphere against Louisville.
