For several weeks Kentucky coach Mark Stoops felt his team had prepared well only to not show the same execution in games. That changed Saturday night in a 58-10 win over Charlotte, a team UK was favored to beat by 24 points.
"I've been proud of their effort, their attitude and doing the right things. So, it was a good team victory, got to play quite a few people, which was good. Got some starters out in the middle of the third quarter there which was good," Stoops said.
"Hopefully, give us a little rest, give us a little boost for this very important week, this week. So, overall great team victory."
Kentucky will host Louisville this Saturday and a win would make the Cats bowl eligible. That's why Stoops knew it was important for his team to win impressively and gain confidence.
