It's sounding like things are looking up on the defensive side of the ball. I just hope our offense will be up to the challenge and help us win some SEC games.

Speaking of big plays, the first-team defense totaled three turnovers. In addition to the two interceptions by Josh Forrest, defensive end Farrington Huguenin had a fumble recovery.

— It was a big day for Huguenin, who batted down two passes and stopped a quarterback scramble on a third-down play in addition to the recovery.

— Quarterback Drew Barker finished with two touchdown passes. In addition to the 42-yarder to Thaddeus Snodgrass , he hit T.V. Williams with a nine-yard scoring play ... Barker threaded the ball through tight coverage and Williams made a terrific catch under duress

— Speedy linebacker Ryan Flannigan had a a pair of big plays. He tackled elusive Stanley "Boom" Williams for a two-yard loss and also tipped a pass that Forrest intercepted.

— Boom Williams scored the other touchdown in the scrimmage, a nifty two-yard run which was stonewalled up the middle before he zipped outside to find the end zone.
