As more and more players commit and cut their lists, the more tense things feel in Lexington concerning the 2019 recruiting class. The top target James Wiseman chose the Memphis Tigers, the Kentucky Wildcats did not even make the top three for Vernon Carey, and in a shallow pool there are very few big fish remaining.
However, USA Today recently re-ranked the top 25 in the 2019 class and these results may help Big Blue Nation feel a bit better.
For starters, James Wiseman has dropped to No. 5, which softens the blow of losing him. For a while, Wiseman seemed like the consensus No. 1 player in his class.
Commits Tyrese Maxey and Kahlil Whitney essentially swapped places from their 247 Sports composite rankings. Maxey comes in at No. 7 on the list, while Whitney sits at No. 11.
