The Kentucky Wildcats may have a new point guard target in the Class of 2018. On Sunday, five-star point guard Darius Garland announced a scholarship offer from UK:

This is an interesting move by John Calipari, who has already extended scholarship offers to Immanuel Quickley and Quentin Grimes in the 2018 class. However, there’s a good argument to be made for Garland being the best of them.

There’s also the ties to Cameron Reddish, who Garland has talked a lot about playing in college with. Duke has been the presumed favorite to land both players, but now that Garland has an offer, that could change these recruitments.

“Some of us are trying to make a package deal, so we’re still waiting on that,” Garland told Sporting News during the Nike EYBL Peach Jam tournament. “That’s pretty important. I just like to win. That’s my main focus: to win, and to get to the next level.”

These package deals are starting to change some kids minds about where to play. The one with Garland and Reddish could come true now that Reddish has started to become interested in playing for Cal. Otherwisw I don't think Garland gives us much of a thought.

Quickley and Williamson could become reality if Quickly can convince Williamson. That would be 4 birds with two stones.

"""Garland (6-1, 170), who is ranked as the top point guard and No. 8 overall prospect in the 2018 class by the industry-average 247Sports Composite, averaged 15.6 points, 3.2 rebounds and 3.0 assists over five games in leading his team to the Peach Jam semifinals.

The Wildcats, who've been all in with fellow 5-star point guard Immanuel Quickley, join Duke, Vanderbilt, Indiana, Kansas, Louisville and Ohio State among others on the Brentwood (Tenn.) product.

Garland, who is one of the fastest and most dynamic playmakers in the 2018 class, joins Bol Bol as the only other prospect Kentucky has offered during the spring and summer travel season.

The Blue Devils currently lead the Commodores on Garland's 247Sports Crystal Ball. """
