Kash Daniel threw for 202 yards and three touchdowns, two of them to Darren Morris, and ran for two more scores. Kent Phelps rushed for 130 yards and two TDs as the Tigers advanced to their first state semifinal since 2001. Paintsville limited Paris, which had rushed for 2,940 yards on the season coming in, to 193 on the ground. “As a defense, the entire time, we just want to lay a goose egg on people, but we know that’s not gonna happen,” Daniel, a Kentucky verbal commit as a linebacker, said. “The best thing we can do is don’t let ‘'em get in the end zone a lot. ... (We want to) get 11 hats to the football and just be violent when you get there.”
