For example, my children took AP history, AP world history, and more. They have no idea about American history. Or rather, they have ideas that are deeply rooted in Marxism and critical theory. Without an accurate recounting of US history, then the US is just another country, nothing special, certainly not worth holding up as an example. The concept of universal truth is dying along with the secularization of America. If you believe that rights are granted by God and governments exist to protect them, you are a knuckle-dragging, gun-toting, bible-hugging dinosaur. Like me. But if you are a-religious (or anti-religious) and a fan of ever more government (and government largesse), then you are a modern, open-minded, progressive person.
