Pelosi - Read the whole thing. This is her private funds going to things that have nothing to do with the VIRUS!!!

This is unbelievable! If you want to know why the stimulus package hasn’t gone through read the Congressional Bill for yourself! Be sure, and send this one to your friends. Sickening!!!
VIRUS STIMULUS BILL ...Now you know why Republicans are blocking this 2 trillion-dollar congressional bill !!!
Hard to believe but look it up on the Congressional website for HR 748 from 116th Congress.

American population: 330,483,530
Stimulus bill: $2,000,000,000,000 ($2 Trillion)
Dividing the cost by everyone in America is $6,051.74

The government could have given every person over $6,000, but instead will give $1,200 to each adult under a certain income.
Wanna know where the missing 96% of your tax dollars would go.

$300,000,000 to Public Broadcasting / NPR has to be bought by the Dems
$500,000,000 to Museums and Libraries / Who the hell knows how we are going to use it
$720,000,000 to Social Security Admin / but get this only 200,000,000 is to help people. The rest is for admin costs

There is a reason she let this out at this time ... to buy votes.
I wish people would quit asking "how dumb can the libs/dems" get ??? They are taking it as a challenge and she is the person out in front.

While I am sure this list is not complete, and focused on those things that would either anger us "middle Americans", or at the very least, do not help us, here is what I see:

Blah blah mass transit! blah blah Amtrak! blah blah More money to those who thrive on hating America! (Endowments for humanities and arts), blah blah money for illegals! blah blah NPR!

What an incredible laundry list of useless and irrelevant items.

Why should students get a bail out ??? They chose to go to the school they went to and chose the degree they wanted. What about all the students who have paid off their loans like they should have ??? Do they or any other students get a bail out ??? Oh yeah, sooooooo many are socialist type students who got degrees that are worthless and now want their money back. I live near a school that has gone nuts. Colorado State. Fort Collins is trying to become the new Boulder of Colorado. Boulder puts a tax on all sodas that are over 24 ounces (I believe it is 24). I don't buy a damn thing in that city if I go through it, but if I did I would just buy 2 24 oz drinks and say kiss my a** dumb a**** !!!

I take it that “how” our money is spent is your concern and I share that. I’m also concerned about “how much” our government spends.

When Trump campaigned in 2016 he promised to erase the national debt within 8 years. To date he has increased the National Debt by 36%. That does NOT include the countless dollars spent on fighting Covid 19 or the 1st stimulus package.

https://www.thebalance.com/trump-plans-to-reduce-national-debt-4114401

Trump wants more money spent on this stimulus package than either the Democrats or the Republicans. I hope the Republican Senate can hold the line on this.

https://www.foxbusiness.com/politics/trump-says-wants-bigger-stimulus-than- gop-democrats-asking-for

IMO, not one dime should go to anyone not finically impacted by the pandemic. No, make that one penny.

MM, yes, Trump wants to "go big, or go home" with the stimulus. Like Handy, I am concerned about our debt, but understand the economic crisis that looms over us.

The difference, as you indicate, is what the money is for. Ed's post listed a whole litany of spending items that have ZERO to do with the COVID crisis or helping people/businesses impacted by the shutdowns. Trump wants a much more focused stimulus package. I hope whatever emerges from all the 'talks' will have minimum pork, and maximum impact on the economy.
