Rosenstien has allegations brought against him and instead of looking into, Sessions defends him.

You have become too used to the "lapdog" AGs of the recent past. Sessions is doing what he is supposed to be doing -- acting independently and letting the investigation carry on.

He is no lapdog nor is he a 'weapon' to be wielded by the White House. He is the Attorney General of the United States. This isn't new, but it certainly isn't what we have become accustomed to. Perhaps another "reset" of expectations after years of demagogues in high positions is in order.

i guess that is one way of looking at it.

I look at it differently

From my view, he is supporting a groundless political witch hunt/ coup and letting the real culprits go unpunished.

I guess what I wrote wasn't very clear. I was contrasting Sessions, who IS independent, with the lapdogs we have seen recently, Holder and Lynch. Holder (especially) and Lynch were there to do Obama's bidding and be his political weapons when he needed them. Sessions is acting as an Attorney General. He sure is irritating to those who want a 'tit for tat', i.e., a Trump appointee who will be HIS lapdog and political weapon. But I find his independence encouraging and refreshing.

Hard thing to do tip - "appoint" an independent voice as we have witnessed recently. Muller is an example as a rep but his actions are certainly biased against trump and for anything Hilary..

Sessions not sure what he has done for anyone to this point..

Sessions lost control of the Justice Department when he recused himself from anything to do with Russia. In my opinion, he is a figure head only at the justice department which is still being controlled by democrats which are not political appointees. He should never have recused himself from the Russia probe, huge mistake and thus far we are seeing very little that he is doing for our country and law enforcement in general.
