Yesterday, the NBA released its annual rookie survey, in which 38 of the league’s first-year players answered eight questions about their class. Among the least surprising answers? According to his peers, Tyler Ulis is the second biggest steal of the draft. Ulis, who was drafted 34th by the Phoenix Suns, received 12.9% of the vote behind San Antonio’s Dejounte Murray with 16.1%. Skal Labissiere (Sacramento) was among the players tied for third with 6.5%.
Jamal Murray received votes in several categories as well. The Nuggets rookie was voted the second best shooter (20%) behind Buddy Hield (65.7%). Last year, Devin Booker won that award with 58.8% of the vote. When it comes to which rookie will have the longest career, Murray was one of four players tied for fourth behind Los Angeles’ Brandon Ingram, Minnesota’s Kris Dunn, and New Orleans’ Buddy Hield.
