Probably the coach who only took KY to 1 final four in his career! Tubby Smith

I easily want to say Rupp but I know it's a trick question so I too will go with Orlando Smith.

I had to look it up after my guess. There are 3 coaches within 2 times of each other. It is very close with one of them with 5 times in a row, one with 6 times and one with 7 times. So there you have it and there are only 3 coaches that could possibly have 5, 6 or 7 times.

Hold on a minute. I did some checking another place and they had one less appearance for one of the coaches so the best I can find it's a tie between two coaches and the other one has 1 less time. We all know which 3 coaches they are but tell me exactly which each coach has how many times.

The answer is Tubby, but Adolph would've doubled Tubby's consecutive NCAA tournament streak if the rules of today applied back then. For example, in 1949-50, UK was 25-4 and played in the NIT instead of the NCAA tournament.

Well that's how smart I am. I didn't believe it could be Tubby so I didn't even look his record up. Tubby went to the NCAA tourney all 10 years he coached. It is hard for me to realize he did that. After that another stat that really threw me is that Rick and Cal both had 6 years in a row to beat out Rupp. He had two strings of 5 in a row.

I have to say he did more with less than any other UK coach. He seemed to always get 1 or 2 really top recruits and a lot of very good recruits. His slow moving offense did him in like Cal's poor shooting teams have caused him to do less with more.

I vote we have co-coaches, with Cal as the chief motivator/BS artist/recruiter, and Tubby running the show, managing the games, and developing talent.
