Just my opinion but here is what I have seen this season.

Boston Almost a whole season and he got away with one drive to the basket tonight. They surrounded him on the other drives. He will go in the draft but will be lucky to get picked in the second round. Don't think he will make a career in the NBA, maybe G league or overseas.

Clarke I'm not so sure that boot he had on his foot is really needed (wink, wink) He hasn't played enough to tell what he might do in the NBA. His draft position is going to drop even though he's through playing.

Jackson He's got a motor and can sky under the basket but he can't shoot a lick. Even these kinds of jumpers won't go far in the NBA if you can't shoot even 2 footers.

Sarr He might make it on his outside shooting if the right team gets him. He may get drafted and again he may not. He's just an average player under the basket and he is too weak to hold his own. Also is not aware of where the opponents are when he gets a rebound.

Mintz His best bet is to take that extra year for his graduate degree and see if he can play on a winning team next year. His shot is good when he's on but he can't handle the ball in traffic.

Brooks is too inconsistent. He had some good plays tonight and some god awful plays. He's not confident enough for the NBA but he may go and not get drafted. He needs another year.

Toppin HE made some good plays tonight and is starting to look better as he gets more PT. He will be a force next year as I don't think he'll leave.

Allen Cal just does not want to run a sreen for him so he can get maybe 2 seconds before the defense gets on him. Why can't they get him open like Sarr got open tonight? Allen would be better off transferring to somewhere like EKU. After the last couple games you can see he is losing confidence in his shot. He thru a short one up that hit the side of the backboard.

Askew He hit some good 3's tonight but Cal also sat him for a good while in the first half because he wasn't able to make any6 offense. He will get better but he will probably be 2nd man to Hickman next year. His passing is still very bad.

Ware needs a whole lot more experience but he is getting enough PT to give him experience for next year. He can work the board pretty good but his shot is also lacking.

Fletcher Who's he?? Is he still around? I don't think Cal knows he is. I wonder if he participates in practice or sits in the corner of the gym with a dunce hat on?? Goodbye!

Remember these are just one mans observations. Wrapping it up, This team is going to be lucky to win another game. They can't shoot, they can't pass, they are weak and can't hold onto the ball, They handle the ball very slow and are unaware of where the other teams players are. Outside of that we might run the table on our remaining 6 games in the next 3 weeks, if someone doesn't get the Covid. [Eek!]

Does anyone else notice that any time Allen is wiiiiide open no one passes him the ball. On two straight possessions Toppin dribbled into a crowd and threw up a terrible shot while Allen was standing behind the line begging for the ball. It just makes me sick.

Allen has been taking bad shots because if he touches the ball and doesn't shoot it he knows he's coming out. It's a catch-22. Allen just can't win with Cal.

Part of it is timing. Allen doesn't move without the ball to get open before the offense has to move to another option. So, yes, he is wide open, but the play has moved on.

Part of it is Cal seems to use shooters as decoys more than primary scoring options. In other words, he wants Allen on the court to spread the defense so the other players can score. NOT for Allen to score. If he does, Cal is OK with it, but as you point out, there are no plays designed to get him a good look.

What play? We run plays? [Wink]

One of the benefits of driving into the paint is the opportunity to kick out to a wide open shooter. We just don't do that when the wide open shooter is Allen. At least that's what I see.

Ark got tons of open looks by driving and dishing.
