The second attempt at Kentucky-Detroit has been called off due to “concerns with COVID-19 protocols and calendar logistics.”

Originally set for November 27 as part of the Bluegrass Showcase, the game was moved to December 15, but will now need a third try.

“The postponement is due strictly to testing and safety logistics,” a release from UK reads. “Both UK and Detroit Mercy will continue with their current practice and playing schedule. The health and safety of Wildcat student-athletes, coaches and staff remains UK Athletics’ No. 1 priority.”

No new date has been mentioned.

Kentucky hosts Notre Dame this coming Saturday, December 12, in Rupp Arena. The Cats will travel to Cleveland the following Saturday to play UCLA in the CBS Sports Classic.

"“The postponement is due strictly to testing and safety logistics"

What horse Q#$%, postpone this one probably due to no revenue and then have the ND and UCLA games and say

"The health and safety of Wildcat student-athletes, coaches and staff remains UK Athletics’ No. 1 priority.”

Give me a break - money dictates who UK plays not the safety of the players or you would postpone all games until the vaccine is ready!!

No money and Brad outshooting the entire Ky team would be an embarrassment and no revenue to boot; [Smile]

I agree. What would UK obtain from playing this game under these circumstances? If they could fill Rupp it would be worth it but as it is neither team gains anything from playing it.

I don't think Brad is getting much playing time at Detroit. Now Mike Davis's son is better than any guard on UK's roster.

Brad could have probably gotten more playing time staying at UK with the group of guards UK has this year. [Smile]

Wife's Mad. Told me we never talk anymore. And just last nite while watching super bowl told her 2 or 3 times to get me a coke and popcorn. Also told her not to forget to take out trash in the morning. Ain't that something. Also told me I was too indecisive. Can't figure out what to do about that. One nice thing I guess. She called me a pro crastinator. Don't know what a crastinator is but I guess I'm a good one for her to call me a pro. Gonna wait til tomorrow to look that up though. I love her but somrtimes can't help but thinking I should have told uncle Junior to keep his coon hound pup and stevens double barrel and also his youngest daughter.

Ouch. Trey, that one hurt (the truth usually does).
