The class of 2021’s No. 1 basketball player in the 247Sports Composite rankings has made a decision on his future. Five-star forward Jonathan Kuminga has reportedly decided not to go the college route.
On an Instagram Live chat with Shams Charania of The Athletic, Kuminga announced that he would be going the route of the G League’s pro pathway program. In order to do so, Kuminga reclassified to the high school class of 2020.
Jonathan Kuminga, the number one prospect in the 2021 247Sports Composite Rankings and the Top247, had set his decision date and time for Thursday, July 16 at 2pm ET.
The 6-foot-8 and 205-pound small forward out of Elizabeth (N.J.) Patrick School recently cut his list down to Auburn, Duke, Kentucky, the NBA G League and Texas Tech.

I hope this becomes a trend. I want college teams to be filled with 3 and 4-year players. I am SO tired of the one-and-dones, even the two-and-dones.
If these kids want to be paid, the G-League is the way to do it.

I agree but the problem is that the G league won't take all of them but there will be less leave than there is now.

We will see more players because of the money factor. Milwaukee Bucks guard Eric Bledsoe tested positive for the coronavirus and has yet to make the trip to Orlando to join the team for the NBA restart, he told ESPN on Thursday.
A record 53 percent of players on 2017-18 NBA end-of-season rosters have spent time in the NBA G League during their careers.
