Terrence Clarke does things normal humans should not be able to do.

The future Kentucky Wildcat is one of the best basketball players in America. Before setting foot on campus, he’s working on his game by playing in open runs (the new term we use for ‘open gym’) and working out on the West Coast with his future teammates, Devin Askew and B.J. Boston. Sharing a trainer with Tyrese Maxey, in Clarke’s latest workout the small forward proved he has bounce.

The 6-foot-7 athlete stared down a 60-inch platform. Clarke took two steps then leapt five feet into the air to complete the box jump.

Even he was shocked he jumped that high. “That’s crazy,” Clarke said. “I gotta see that back.”

Not to start an argument, but that is a high jump height and not a vertical leap.
Still, he is a great jumper.

Exactly … I have a 48+ inch jump if I get to raise my feet when I jump !!! Well maybe more like 8 inches !!!

MEL

PS … if you want to watch a guy with a supposed 60 inch vertical look up Kadour Ziani … he is 5'11" and jumps out of the gym. Just google his name, he is amazing.

I thought that when I first read the article as well. A box jump is different than a vertical! In a box jump you can lift your legs as high as you want to.

The way a Vertical is usually measured is you stand with one arm outstretched as high as you can reach next to a pole. You take two steps back and jump and spin the highest tab you can reach mounted much higher on that same pole. The difference between these two heights is considered your vertical!
