Last week, the SEC became the first major conference to announce it would allow student-athletes to return to campus and begin voluntary workouts starting June 8 and according to Jack Pilgrim of Kentucky Sports Radio, the UK men's basketball team has targeted a tentative return date of June 22.
In the meantime, Askew and the rest of the Wildcats' top-ranked recruiting class, which features six of the top 60 prospects in the 2020 class, are keeping in touch via group chat.
"We just talk about how special our team is and going out there and winning No. 9 for Kentucky," Askew said. "People expect us to win it all and I feel like we can do that."
Askew (6-3, 195) finished the 2020 recruiting cycle ranked No. 31 overall by the 247Sports Composite.
"Devin is a winner who other players want to play with," UK head coach John Calipari said. "He has a team-first mentality and a maturity about him that you won’t find from many kids his age. He can make shots, he creates plays for himself and his teammates, and he is a willing defender with great size and length. Devin embraces the challenge of playing on this stage and has the makeup to be a special player."
