Thought he was playing pretty well late in the season.

Yeah, this sucks! I thought he'd get a lot of time next year and be a very good player. Maybe this is a sign that Quickley is returning.

What? Where did you see that? I was counting on him to be a key player for the next coupe of years. Hoping he would end up being that knock down shooter.

I just saw this as well and came on here to post it. Paul, I also wondered if that could be an indication Quickley might be staying. Probably wishful thinking on our part. Having a season next year might be wishful thinking. [ 03-27-2020, 05:00 PM: Message edited by: handycat ]

We have had a hard time keeping California kids. Maybe he just wants to play closer to home, like Marcus Lee.
I am disappointed, but I don't necessarily think Quickley has anything to do with it. Next year's recruiting class is guard-heavy, and I guess he doesn't think he can compete. I think he is wrong... he was playing great at the end of the season... but kids often lack perspective.

Kentucky freshman Johnny Juzang, who gained a reputation this past season for being unafraid to compete, will take a new leap of faith. UK announced Friday that Juzang had entered his name in the NCAA transfer portal.
“When we spoke last night, his family talked about Johnny going back to the West Coast, which I understand,” UK Coach John Calipari said in a news release. “If this is what he ultimately decides to do, we wish him all the best. He has our full support.”
Calipari also said that the option of returning to Kentucky for a sophomore season will remain open for Juzang, who calls Los Angeles home.
Corey Evans, a recruiting analyst for Rivals.com, said there will be keen interest in Juzang from “pretty much all of the Pac-12 Conference.”

I keep thinking that he's gonna end up at UCLA. Cronin has added a little excitement in that program.

I read that Gonzaga and USC are the top two right now. And it will be Gonzaga if he wants to go to a school that has a chance to dance.

Hopefully coach Cal can persuade him to come back.
