The Florida Gators (17-9, 9-4 SEC) will head to Lexington, Kentucky Saturday to take on the No. 10 Kentucky Wildcats (21-5, 11-2 SEC) like they do every year. And just about every year they head to the largest arena in the SEC to take on a squad that is ranked in or near the Top 10. It’s never easy playing Kentucky and Saturday will be the same. The two match up at 6 pm and will be aired on ESPN.
“Loud. Tough place to play, of course,” Florida head coach Mike White said Friday about playing in Rupp Arena. “Great environment though, it will be a great college basketball game. Kentucky’s, you know obviously, one of the great programs in college basketball, they’re tough to beat anywhere, especially at home.
“Our transition defense has got to be much better than it’s been lately. It’s probably our biggest deficiency right now, along with defending without fouling, and that’s where they’re so proficient. As good as anyone in the country at getting to the line, and as good as anyone in the country at converting at the line, so we’ve got to play with more discipline defensively. We’re playing really hard, but we’ve got to clean it up.”
