For the second time this season, the Kentucky Wildcats have swept the weekly SEC awards.
On Monday, the league announced that Immanuel Quickley was named the SEC Player of the Week, while Tyrese Maxey was selected as the SEC Freshman of the Week. It’s Quickley’s first career SEC honor and Maxey’s third.
In wins at Georgia and vs. Alabama, Quickley averaged 17 points, five rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.5 steals per game while making 8/9 attempts from long range. Maxey added 15 points, 5.5 boards, 4.5 assists and two blocks per game as Kentucky improved to 12-3 overall and 3-0 in league play.
Kentucky has dominated the weekly SEC awards under head coach John Calipari, including more weekly SEC honors (105) than any other school during the Calipari era. They’ve secured 83 SEC Freshman of the Week honors and 22 SEC Player of the Week awards.
