Kentucky’s freshmen will see a familiar face when they travel to Georgia for their first college road game.
In Athens, the Wildcats’ group of highly touted first-year players will not be the highest-ranked freshmen on the floor for a change. That honor goes to Bulldogs guard Anthony Edwards, the No. 1-ranked prospect in the 2019 class according to 247Sports.
“I’ve been playing against Anthony since about third or fourth grade,” UK freshman forward Keion Brooks said Monday. “… He’s a great player. We’ve just got to do everything we can to make it hard on him, limit his open looks.”
Kentucky was never viewed as a leader for Edwards during his recruitment, but he did take a visit to Lexington in January 2019 after reclassifying from 2020 to 2019 and listed the Wildcats as one of three finalists alongside Georgia and Florida State.
