And Maxey with 9. Cats spread the wealth around really well tonight. I loved the half-hooks and the “Sky Hook” from Richards. I think maybe he has started catching the ball without fumbling it. Also, both Richards and Sestina had double-doubles.

If they keep getting better every game as a typical coach Cal team does, they should be able to make a deep run come March.

It's been awhile but when was the last time you saw a guard blow through a press like Hagans. And when was the last time you saw a guard RIP the ball away.

Guess the loss to Evansville has temporarily diminished my enthusiasm. We need improvement in all phases of the game, and Cal should stop being an Instagram celebrity and teach these guys an offense of some sort.

Ala_kat2,
Cal has a pattern that he follows religiously. In November, he is working on defense, rebounding, "toughness", etc. He has a lot to work on on these areas. In the meantime, offense is left to instincts and a few basic principles. Thus, the "bunch of guys trying out for the NBA" look last night. He gradually adds offensive sets and schemes starting with "Camp Cal" over the Christmas break, but even then he sometimes has no out-of-bounds plays, for example, until even later in the year.
To expect Cal's teams to look good in November is folly. This happens year-in and year-out. I don't pass judgement on Cal's teams until late January...
