This is not about basketball, but one of the people that was around when this web site started. I'm posting it here because many of you only visit this particular forum. I just heard from another old friend, Rongo, that John was found dead in his bed last night, from an apparent heart attack. He was a good friend to me, and also to the well remembered Redbone, Handycat's brother. [ 04-19-2019, 10:33 AM: Message edited by: Old Norm ]

Oh my God. This is terrible news. I met John and Norm a while back, and always enjoyed Cattracker's posts. I considered him a friend, although distant and somewhat estranged these past few years.
Prayers go out to John's family and friends.

I had replied to Cattrackers passing in the General Chat portion of the board but wanted to add it here.
"I am so, so sorry to hear this. John and I never met in person but we did know each other through the Domain and e-mailed each other a few times. My brother Redbone and John were good friends. I believe it was Cattracker who introduced Redbone to this site. John was in the hospital when Rod passed away and he reached out to me several times with condoences. John was an extremely intelligent man who loved the Cats. He will be missed. Rest in peace Cattracker."

Oh my goodness. I am not joking. I woke up this morning thinking about John and I was going to send him a message on Facebook asking how he is doing.
This is crazy. So sad.
-------------------- Wife's Mad. Told me we never talk anymore. And just last nite while watching super bowl told her 2 or 3 times to get me a coke and popcorn. Also told her not to forget to take out trash in the morning. Ain't that something. Also told me I was too indecisive. Can't figure out what to do about that. One nice thing I guess. She called me a pro crastinator. Don't know what a crastinator is but I guess I'm a good one for her to call me a pro. Gonna wait til tomorrow to look that up though. I love her but somrtimes can't help but thinking I should have told uncle Junior to keep his coon hound pup and stevens double barrel and also his youngest daughter.

I went to Cattracker's 50th birthday party some 13 years ago. Spent a weekend with him and his wife at that time (Cindy) and thoroughly enjoyed my weekend with him. We became good friends and remained close until I read this post this morning. I talked to John occasionally and never knew of any health problems. I have truly lost a good, long time friend and will miss our e mails and chats. John was a good one, and as the old saying goes, only the good die young and he was young by today's standards. BTW, Norm was at that 50th birthday party and we all had a great time.

Jon seemed to reach out to a lot of us. I had been thinking of him recently and wondered about him as I am not on Facebook.

I remember him from the early days of this message board. I enjoyed his posts and his humor. I was surprised one time when after he saw a photo of me that he said I looked like Richard Wright of Pink Floyd.....not many folks know what PF band members look like let alone know their names.
Prayers to his family. [ 04-20-2019, 07:10 AM: Message edited by: jerseycat ]

I have missed him greatly over the last several years! Shame when you have a contact like that we never got to meet face to face. I'd like the opportunity to meet some of our members here some day!
