From KSR:
quote:

PJ Washington will not play vs. Abilene Christian. John Calipari just announced that the specialist PJ saw yesterday confirmed he has a sprained foot but no fracture, but put him in a hard cast as a precaution. He has been ruled out for today’s game. John Calipari ✔ @UKCoachCalipari The specialists confirmed our original diagnosis that @PJWashington has a sprained foot and there is no fracture. Once we determined that PJ was not going to play today, they put him in a hard cast for precautionary reasons. He is out for today’s game.
quote:

That makes our road much harder. If we win tonight, I doubt he will be able to play Saturday either with being in a hard cask.

We should still win today, but not so sure about Saturday if he misses the second game.

Very smart move, kudos to Cal. We need him rested for the Wofford/Seton Hall game.

It doesn't sound good. I can't see him being ready to play by Saturday if it is bad enough that they put him in a cast.

Well, that pretty much crashes my bracket.

Wife's Mad. Told me we never talk anymore. And just last nite while watching super bowl told her 2 or 3 times to get me a coke and popcorn. Also told her not to forget to take out trash in the morning. Ain't that something. Also told me I was too indecisive. Can't figure out what to do about that. One nice thing I guess. She called me a pro crastinator. Don't know what a crastinator is but I guess I'm a good one for her to call me a pro. Gonna wait til tomorrow to look that up though. I love her but somrtimes can't help but thinking I should have told uncle Junior to keep his coon hound pup and stevens double barrel and also his youngest daughter.

I agree Trey, if they put him in a hard cast, he is finished for this weekend and so are our Cats more than likely.

I can't believe you guy's are so negative. The lack of faith y'all have is crazy. I can't believe that any true BLUE UK fan would think we would lose tonight or Saturday for that matter.

The Cats will play harder tonight and hopefully it will get us a win. Keep the faith the Cats will overcome. Got to take it game by game!

I have no doubts UK wins tonight, but Saturday without PJ will be difficult. UK would need to hit a fair share of 3’s to advance.

Even if they do, I don’t see him coming back at all looking at the cast he has on.

Listened to Cal and it pretty much said PJ is out on Saturday. UK needs Nick Richards to have a good game.

There is absolutely no way we lose to wofford. Reid,Ej,and Keldon can control the inside and Ashton, Tyler and Emmanuel can take care of the perimeter. I know wofford shoots the 3 pointer well but I don't think they will get uncontested shots. Rest Pj because we need him in the sweet16.

What is so negative about that statement. I see PJ in a hard cast and feel he will probably not be able to play in the tournament, I don't consider that a negative. Without PJ we will have more than our hands full with Wofford, they have a very good team. And yes, my blood bleeds as blue as anyone who follows UK basketball.

I agree I don't think we can win the tournament without Pj, but this weekend, come on.

Did you watch Wofford play last night? They are a three point shooting team which is just the type of team that gives our defense fits. I would feel a lot more comfortable playing them with PJ on the floor.

This game does make me nervous. It's an older team that shoots the 3 really , really well. Those are teams that give us trouble. Without PJ our bigs have to stay out of foul trouble, and keep Wofford off the line. They shot 48%, 46% from three, and 83% from ft. That being said, if we play smart defense then we win. If we switch everything, and don't communicate well on D we can definitely lose.

It was announced this afternoon that PJ wouldn't be playing against Wofford tomorrow either!
