This is breaking news, he was seen in a walking boot. They said it was for precautionary reasons. Hope it's nothing serious.

Not much in this article. Just basically confirms what blue hoot said.

Not good

--------------------
Wife's Mad. Told me we never talk anymore. And just last nite while watching super bowl told her 2 or 3 times to get me a coke and popcorn. Also told her not to forget to take out trash in the morning. Ain't that something. Also told me I was too indecisive. Can't figure out what to do about that. One nice thing I guess. She called me a pro crastinator. Don't know what a crastinator is but I guess I'm a good one for her to call me a pro. Gonna wait til tomorrow to look that up though. I love her but somrtimes can't help but thinking I should have told uncle Junior to keep his coon hound pup and stevens double barrel and also his youngest daughter.

Wow! That could be a big bracket breaker. Some people could easily lose 3 games if he doesn't play. Even 4 or maybe 5 or 6 games for those who think UK is going to win it all.

Not sure why they are being so secretive, my word he's been in a boot since Sunday. He had to injured it in the Tennessee game. Basically if he's in a boot he can't walk good. If it's bad, I wouldn't play him in the first weekend. Yes that's risky but we need him in the long haul.

If PJ is not 100%, all bets are off. It would be like when D Wade and Marquette embarrassed us when Bogans was hobbled with a foot injury.

IMO, we don't make the sweet sixteen if PJ is unable to play to his potential.

Sadly, I agree, Tip. If we are without PJ, we could easily get bounced in round 2. I like to think we'll be ok in the first round, but who knows?

Report out now that he is expected to play. He is seeing a specialist today just to make sure he can't harm himself more. No way I would play him in the first game.

From KSR:

quote:

PJ Washington will not play vs. Abilene Christian. John Calipari just announced that the specialist PJ saw yesterday confirmed he has a sprained foot but no fracture, but put him in a hard cast as a precaution. He has been ruled out for today’s game. John Calipari ✔ @UKCoachCalipari The specialists confirmed our original diagnosis that @PJWashington has a sprained foot and there is no fracture. Once we determined that PJ was not going to play today, they put him in a hard cast for precautionary reasons. He is out for today’s game.

Hate to be negative on PJ but I'm going to say that there is a 95% chance he's done for the year.

Amazing to me how some say pj wont play again without any inside knowledge or proof that it is true. That has to classified as pure speculation at best..

I personally believe he will play without any inside knowledge cause he has nothing to gain by not playing and Cal has said he will if possible..
Pure wishful thinking on my part..

If he is able he plays imo. we will know by wed..

I like your optimism, but I just don't see it. You say he has nothing to lose, but I disagree. PJ has, imo, played himself into being a lottery pick in a few months. Playing again in a UK uniform if he's not 100% could cost him draft stock and millions of dollars. Secondly, he supposedly injured his foot in nashville, came home to Lexington, then went to Wisconsin to see a foot specialist? That coupled with the fact that he's in a hard cast to me points to the possibility of a much more serious injury than a simple 'sprained foot'.

He may play and he may not. Either way, he doesn't owe me a damn thing, so I'm not going to complain or speculate on what a 20? year old boy does or does not do. Hell, I can't control my own kids or grandkids. Some of them even vote Democrat!
