From KSR:

For the third time this season, Keldon Johnson has been named SEC Freshman of the Week.

Keldon averaged 12.0 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 1.5 steals in Kentucky’s wins over No. 22 Mississippi State and No. 9 Kansas, shooting a team-best 52.9 percent from the field. After going 0-8 in the first half vs. Kansas, he came out on a tear in the second, going 3-3 from beyond the arc en route to 15 points and 10 rebounds, his third career double double. He’s averaging a team-high 14.6 points per game, 5.3 rebounds and 1.5 assists.

This is the seventh time a Kentucky player has won SEC Freshman of the Week this year. Tyler Herro and Ashton Hagans have also won the award twice each. Tennessee’s Grant Williams won SEC Player of the Week after scoring 43 points vs. Vanderbilt on Wednesday.

Grant Williams might give us all kinds of problems when we play UT. I watched him twice last week and he's a pretty good player.

That he is, but we beat them last year so I see no reason (except for poor shooting) we can't beat them again.

Keldon is a great player and deserves this award, but IMO I believe Ashton is the most important player on the team.

Ashton certainly is the little engine that is making this team successful right now. His defense and ball distribution is outstanding and makes everyone around him better players.

Johnson, Hero, Travis and Washington will all need good games tonight and hopefully right from the get-go.
