Box Score
One disappointing statistic was rebounding, they beat us on the boards by 8. I see only one potential first round NBA pick on this roster and that is Kelden Johnson. It was good to see Baker get in for the last couple of minutes and go 2 for 2 from behind the three point line. Washington was pretty much a no show again today, seems he only exerts himself ever 3 or 4th game. [ 12-15-2018, 07:23 PM: Message edited by: SCWC ]

I'm gonna agree with Boomdaddy on Travis - I don't think he should be starting, or at least getting the minutes he does. I would like to see some of his minutes start going to EJ, especially if EJ is gonna be around for another year. I know at the end of most games Travis's stats look pretty good, but I can't keep track of the number of times during a game I find myself wondering why he's on the floor. He truly can't guard an athletic big, and he gets his shot blocked or fumbles the ball away way too much. Give EJ a chance. [ 12-15-2018, 07:53 PM: Message edited by: PaulCat ]

I thought Travis was supposed to be a rebounding machine. He only got 3 rebounds yesterday and our team gave Utah too many offensive rebounds. I agree with Boom and Paulcat, I think Travis is a bench player. His vertical leap must be all of one foot and he plays zero defense.

I too have been disappointed in Reid. I've said before he does not have the athletic ability that we have become accustomed to. I think his percentage of made dunks is about the same as made threes.
That said, I think he brings a lot to this team. That says a lot about what I think of the quality of the bigs we have.
Not sure why I'm so negative after a fairly easy win over a "decent" team. I'm using the term decent loosely. To me, there is nothing to feel warm and fuzzy about this team. At least I don't have to cancel Christmad.
I give us no chance of beating N Carolina after watching their fairly easy win over Gonzaga last night. [ 12-16-2018, 07:46 AM: Message edited by: handycat ]

Unless we play well above our heads, North Carolina will handle us probably like Duke did in that first game. My fear is losing the next two games, our first true road game of the season will be game 12 at Louisville. Cal should be taking these young players on the road to get them ready for conference play. 8 Cupcakes at home does very little to develop talent in my opinion.

Cal don't want to lose any games while he's trying to get these guys ready for the SEC. You play a lot of cupcakes and hope your guys pick up the game without losing. Sometimes it works and sometimes it don't. Hello Seton Hall.

These cupcake teams are not filling up rupp arena for games. I saw the last two home games people could get student tickets for 15.00. Our attendance through the home stretch of cupcakes averaged about 21,000 fans, certainly not filling Rupp to the rafters.

One good stat was turn-overs, we turned them over 18 times to our 6 t/o's.

12-21 3 pointers didn't hurt our cause either.
